APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A PowerHA 7.2.3.2 system, which includes APAR IJ04853,
rejects a valid request to triple mirror a volume group
whose current layout is:

vgdata:
LV NAME   TYPE   LPs    PPs    PVs  LV STATE   MOUNT
POINT
sapdata1  jfs2   3038   6076   4    open/syncd /sapdata1

The error message is --
cl_mirrorvg: No logical volumes in the volume group
vgdata
   to mirror

Local fix

  • Find the node on which the volume group is on line, and
use the base AIX mirrorvg command.

Problem summary

  • When trying to perform triple mirroring a volume group the
request was rejected with the following error:
cl_mirrorvg: No logical volumes in the volume group vgdata to
mirror

Problem conclusion

  • Made code change in logic i.e instead of using hardcoded values,
checking the condition in cl_mirrorvg file based on the number
of copies provided
