Error description

  • This APAR includes fixes to various defects identified in CICS
    Explorer V5.5.0.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • - OSGi bundle exports do not work correctly during installation
due to an illegal character error.
    - CICS Explorer does not support Jakarta EE 8 as a Java
    classpath library.
    - In the Workload Management Specification editor, if you
attempt to create a transaction group but it is in error and the
editor is closed without saving it, an orphaned transaction
    group is created.
    - In the Workload Management Specification editor, if you remove
the name of the transaction group it goes back to <generated>,
with an error marker rather than behaving the same as when you
    first open the editor.
    - Resources views in the CICS SM perspective are not showing in
    alphabetical order by default.
    - When using a workspace with an older version of CICS Explorer,
NullPointerExceptions sometimes occur as there are unrecognised
attributes in CICS SM resources views.

Problem conclusion

  • - A new patch has been included for customers using the CICS
Explorer zip assembly in order to allow OSGi bundle exports to
work correctly in installation directories containing spaces.
    - Messaging has been updated to demonstrate support for Jakarta
EE 8 as a Java classpath library.
    - The Workload Management Specification editor is corrected so,
if it is closed without saving a transaction group that was
being created, that group is removed.

    - The Workload Management Specification editor is corrected so,
when you save a transaction group specification and have the
name as <generated>, the name is generated at that point.
    - Resources views in the CICS SM perspective have been updated
to be organised into alphabetical order by default, in new
    workspaces.
    - Unrecognised attributes in CICS SM resources views no longer
cause NullPointerExceptions to occur when using a workspace with
an older version of CICS Explorer.
    .
    .
This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.0.7 of the CICS
    Explorer.
