Local fix

• This issue only shows up when JNI checking is enabled using JVM
  option -Xcheck:jni.  Removing this JNI checking option will work
  around the issue.

• The problem is caused because the JNI checking mechanism does
  not handle atomic-free properly.

• The JVM has been updated so that the JNI checking mechanism
  handles the atomic-free properly.
