Error description

  • File specified with option "-g" may not contain empty
lines

VIOS Server 2.2.6.32
Upgrade of VIO server with local viosupgrade command and
backup files listed in a file attended via option -g

If file specified with option "-g" contains
empty lines, then user will receive error message.

EXAMPLE
viosupgrade -l -i /tmp/mksysb_1842B_72M -a hdisk8 -c -g
/home/padmin/bkpfile.lst

Output:
... "Unable to open file ''."

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • If the file specified by viosupgrade -g has an empty line,
viosupgrade will error out.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Instead of error and exit, we will continue reading and
processing any lines from the -g <file>.
