IJ14341: NIMADM ERROR IN PHASE6 "0403-058 ASSIGNMENT REQUIRES AN LVALUE."APPLIES TO AIX 7100-05

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In migrations to AIX 7200-03-01 or 7200-03-02 , NIMADM
  may throw the following error in the end of Phase6:
  "/usr/sbin/nimadm[1147]: XXXXX = 0 : 0403-058 Assignment
  requires an lvalue."
  
  Issue occurs only when caching ( -j ) is used.
  
  The update_all process fails to trigger and the system
  may be left with down leveled file sets and
  incorrect oslevel -s output after successful NIMADM
  completion.
  
  The success/failed message at the end of Phase6 will also
  not be displayed.
  
  install_all_updates: Log file is
  /var/adm/ras/install_all_updates.log
  install_all_updates: Result = SUCCESS / FAILED
  

Local fix

• Ignore the error during NIMADM and run
  update_all/manually update after the migration to get the
  oslevel to the correct level.

Problem conclusion

• While calculating the size needed to install RPM's incorrect
  assignment was done. Fix the assignment value.
