APAR status

Error description

  • When using the new Explorer Aggregate function there is an
    option to
    Expand Group in New View.
Selecting this option creates a new View which shows up in View
    Configurations
Usually when you close the View the (Expanded) view is deleted
    and no
longer shows up in the View Configurations panel.
But, expanded views are not deleted if CICS Explorer quits
    abnormally,
    or the perspective is closed/reset.
In our testing they are deleted correctly if the view is
    closed.

Local fix

  • NA

Problem summary

  • Using the Expand Group in New View feature to create a new
transient view showing grouped data, if the Perspective were
reset while the expanded view was still open, this causes the
view to close. Later on, looking in the CICS View
Configurations preferences page and the Quick Access search box,
the expanded view is still shown, and at this point it has to be
    deleted manually.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Explorer has been updated so that it deletes any expanded
views when the Perspectives associated with them are are closed.
    .
This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.0.2 of the CICS
    Explorer.
