Error description

  • It has been identified that in some instances events are being
directed to Eventthrottlefilterqueue and spillover to disk
instead of going to TCP_TO_EC and directed to the EC (event
    collection) process.
This behavior is caused by an Unexpected RuntimeException and
can be visible in QRadar logging with messages similar to the
    following when occurring:
    [ecs-ec.ecs-ec] [ecs-ec/EC/TCP_TO_EP:TakeFromQueue]
    com.q1labs.frameworks.queue.SpilloverQueue.ecs-ec_EC_TCP_TO_EP:

Local fix

  • Performing a restart of the ecs-ec-ingress process can
sometimes correct this particular pipeline issue where events
    are being dropped.
