APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Adapters using shientdd can log the following errors
when link goes down and later up:
SHIENT_PLINK_UP
SHIENT_SW_ERR
LDMP_COMPLETE
After the livedump on all adapter ports the ports might
be
in an unusable state requiring reboot or rmdev/mkdev.

Local fix

  • Disable the livedump feature:
#‌‌ dumpctrl ldmpoff -P
#‌‌ bosboot -a
#‌‌ shutdown -Fr

Problem summary

  • shientdd driver takes adapter livedumps and logs permanent
error SHIENT_SW_ERR in the errpt.

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the code which was wrongly triggering the livedump.
