APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • It has been identified that a non-admin user is unable to view
    reports shared from an admin when the entire report group is
    shared.
    
    For example:
    1. Admin -> Log Source Groups, create a group (e.g. LSG1).
    Assign some log sources to that group.
    2. Create searches and reports for the log sources in the group
    LSG1.  Create a report group (e.g. RG1) and assign the reports
    to this report Group.
    3. Create a user role (e.g. user_role_A). Grant all the
    permissions except Admin and Delegated Administration. Deploy
    the changes.
    4. Create a Security Profile (e.g. security_profile_A). Select
    Networks AND Log Sources in the Permission precedence tab.
    Assign All in the Networks tab. Add the log source group LSG1 to
    the Assigned Log Source pane in the Log Sources tab. Deploy the
    changes.
    5. Create a new user (e.g. user_A) and assign the user role
    user_role_A and security_profile_A to this user. Deploy the
    changes.
    6. Share the report group RG1 with the user_A.
    7. Log in as user_A and go to the Reports tab.
    
    Expected Result: user_A should be able to see all the reports in
    the report group RG1
    Actual Result: user_A is unable to see the reports in the report
    group RG1
    

Local fix

  • Sharing the admin reports one at a time to a non-admin works as
    expected.
    

Problem summary

  • This issue was fixed in QRadar QRM QVM release of 731 Patch 5.
