APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • It has been identified that Offenses generated from "Match
    Count" rules can sometimes be generated at the incorrect time
    per the rule configuration. and also have a start time that is
    prior to the Offense creation time.
    
    Example of an affected "Match Count" rule entry:
    "when a(n) source IP matches more than|exactly this many of
    these rules across more than|exactly this many destination IP,
    over this many minutes".
    
    These occurances have been observed in Match Count, Double
    Match Count and Trigger Match Count rule type instances.
    
    In some instances where this Offense generation issue has
    occurred, the ecs-ep process going Out of Memory have also been
    observed.
