IJ06397: DISK OPERATION ERROR WITH PERSISTENT RESERVE FLOODS ERRPT APPLIES TO AIX 7100-05

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When disks are part of an active volume group on one
  node using PR_Exclusive reserves, attempts to read those
  disks (such as, for example, with lqueryvg) on another
  node
  result in disk operation errors with the following sense
  data:
  
  SENSE DATA
  0600 1A00 3F00 FF00 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000
  0000 0118 0000 0000 0000
       ^^ 1A here
    ^^^0118 here
  
  The read actually succeeds, but there will be one such
  error logged for every disk in the volume group.
  
  The errors themselves are harmless, and can be safely
  ignored.
  
  This APAR prevents the errors from being logged in the
  scenario described above.

• There is no workaround, but the errors in this case
  are harmless and can safely be ignored.
