APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Clients using clmgr to convert from Multicast -> Unicast
may see an error if VERBOSE_LOGGING=high.

The clmgr command such as the following:

#clmgr modify cluster HEARTBEAT_TYPE=unicast
.
may generate an error as follows:
.
ERROR: one or more nodes in the cluster does not
currently
have unicast capability. Please perform the necessary
updates on all nodes to allow a unicast-based cluster

Local fix

  • Do not use VERBOSE_LOGGING=high when using clmgr

Problem summary

  • While running clmgr command to convert
from Multicast -> Unicast, parsing
incorrect cluster node capability
in case of VERBOSE_LOGGING set as 'high'.

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the code to parse the correct
value of node capability.
