APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The new connection wizard enforces entry for a JES member name
however, in an environment without JESPLEX, we cannot have a JES
member name.

Problem summary


    

  • Having a Sysplex with no JESPLEX, once a new CICS Deployment
Assistant Connection is made (or an existing one is edited),
using the 'Add Deployment Assistant Connection' wizard, if the
JES Member Name field (in the System tab) is cleared a
validation error message is shown indicating that the field
requires a value.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • It is no longer a requirement for the JES Member name to be
filled in when there is no JESPLEX.

This fix will be made available in Version 5.3.0.4 of the CICS
DA Plug-in.
