Error description

  • If fixes for PE'd APARs OW33947/OW37375 aren't installed on
an MVS or OS/390 system AND the system doesn't have HCD
Shark support applied then it is possible to define Shark
PAV device types 3390B and 3390A. If the IODF which is
built on the non-Shark supported system with PAV device
types defined is propagated to other systems with Shark
Exploitation support installed, then the PAV feature for
these device WILL NOT be usable.

Local fix

  • The device definitions must be deleted and
readded on an OS/390 system with HCD Shark exploitation
    support installed.
IF MAINTENANCE IS INSTALLED: Fixing PE APARs
OW42240/OW42272 will no longer allow the definitions of PAV
device types on an MVS or OS/390 system that does not have
     HCD Shark support applied.
