OPERATIONAL, RESTART, AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS FOR MQSERIES FOR MVS/ESA: This document summarizes some new features that have been added to MQSeries for MVS/ESA Version 1.2 to help improve system operation, restart, and performance. It also gives some useful sources of new information. NEW FEATURES ------------ The following new features have been added to MQSeries for MVE/ESA Version 1.2. APAR number Description ----------- ----------- PQ27038 Introduction of new messages during restart of MQSeries PQ25159 MQSeries QMGR startup that will enable customers PQ28486 to decide which URs to commit or back out via WTOR responses. PQ28088 Detection of long running units of recovery. PQ24798 RESETPAGE function being used after QMGR not shut down correctly. This can potentially cause integrity problems. PQ24346 Enhance DISPLAY THREAD command to include start UOW PQ24347 Display a message when the QMGR detects that a buffer pool is too small. PQ22286 Problems re-establishing a channel after a comms outage. II11758 MQSeries: restart and recovery. NEW INFORMATION --------------- The following new information has been added to the System Management Guide (SC33-0806-06) since it was published in March 1998. APAR number Description ----------- ----------- PQ28753 Improvements to information about recovery scenarios. PQ28783 New information about tuning your system parameters. PQ28785 Improved information about buffer pool statistics. Using this information can help you improve the performance of your system.
