Error description

  • It has been pointed out that the documentation for the 3745 and
NCP documentation do not fully agree concerning the use of the
HISPEED= parameter in the NCP gen for 3745 TSS lines.
    Specifically:

    1) The 3745 Maintenance Information manuals
(SY33-2056 and SY33-2066) in the LIC card sections indicate
that with a line speed higher than 128 kbps, only one line may
be attached to the scanner with the high-speed bit set.
    2) The 3745 Connection and Integration Guide (SA33-0129),
in the appendix dealing with Scanner Line Weights, Scanner
Capacity section, it states 2 one-port LICs (LIC 3 or 4B)
can be supported if the highest speed on either of the 2 LICs
is 128 kbps, and only 1 one-port LIC can be supported if
the speed is 230.4 kbps. It says nothing about speeds in
      between.
    3) In the NCP Resource Definition Reference (SC31-6224) and NCP
Resource Definition Guide (SC31-6223) under the descriptions
of the HISPEED parameter, it states that this must be set to
HISPEED=YES if the line is to operate at 144 kbps or higher. It
further states that with HISPEED=YES,only 1 line may be active
      on the scanner.
Item 3) has the correct information - 144 Kbps is the cutover
point where HISPEED=YES must be specified and this dedicates the
scanner resources so that only 1 line will operate on the
    scanner.
