II10003: ELA7 ABEND ISSUED WHEN USING ELAZ TRANSACTION TO TRACE VISUALGEN HOST SERVICES APPLICATIONS.

Error description

  • An abend ELA7 can occur when running ELAZ traces in VSE system.
The abend is caused by internal GETMAIN  with 64K storage needed
for trace buffer.  If the dynamic partition is running below the
16M line the getmain for this buffer fails with an abend ELA7.
The size of the trace buffer is base on VisualGen Host Service
NLS independent installation option.  The default size is 64K.
To avoid this problem, modify ELAVCIOP.Z job (Step 6.1.3.2.2 of
program directory) to have a buffer size smaller than 64K, i.e.
48K, 32K, etc.
