Error description

• This informational apar (INFOAPAR) is being created to document
  possible problems, OEM errors with the product, tips and sugges-
  tions for product use and tuning, etc...
  HARDWARE/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
  For AIX environment:
   1. AIX 3.2.5 or 4.1
   2. An 8mm cassette tape drive to read the installation media
   3. Approximately 6-megabytes of disk storage
   4. An IBM AIX workstation (RISC/6000), or compatible alterna-
      tive, with a minimum of 64-megabytes of memory (RAM)
      NOTE: If large amounts of data (100-Megabytes or more) are
      normally processed on your workstation, additional RAM will
      improve SMARTsort performance.

  Currently for this release only the AIX platform is supported.
  As more platforms are added they will be updated in this APAR.
  For details on requirments, installation, and operation of the
  product you should reference the SMARTsort 'Guide and Reference
  for Workstations" manual (SC26-7043).

    DURING INSTALLATION OF THE PRODUCT YOU RECEIVE:
      The number of restored files is 29.
      Could not load program smrtini
      Could not load library libshrnck.a
      Error was: No such file or directory
    If you receive these messages and are attempting to install
  on a AIX 3.2.5 system then you must insure that you have on
  the NetLS PTF's U436931 and U436932, which are full replacement
  PTF's. This problem is due to the installation process calling
  NetLS function that calls libshrnck.a.  You must install these
  PTF's prior to installing SMARTsort 1.1 onto your AIX system.
  The iforLS/NetLS PTF's are available by anonymous FTP site:
    ftp.software.ibm.com
  and are located in the aix/products/iforls/fixes directory.
  This FTP site is externally accessible. The PTF's are also
  required on a AIX 4.1.2 or lower system. If you have a
  AIX 4.1.2 or lower system you will see the message indicate
  that libnetls_shr.a library not found. The PTF's are not
  required on a AIX 4.1.3 or higher system.

   SMARTsort: MESSAGE 5026-070 ATTEMPT TO ACCESS SMARTsort
   LICENSE FAILED. ERROR REPORTED IS SMARTsort AIX: NO SERVERS
   AVAILABLE FOR THIS VENDOR (NETWORK LICENSE SERVER LIBRARY).
  This message did not make it into the SMARTsort 'Guide and
  Reference for Workstations' (SC26-7043-00). It was placed in
  the READ.ME file shipped with the product. The customer needs
  to set-up a license server. The READ.ME file explains more
  about that.
