Error description

• This info apar will be used to document and make searchable
  problems associated with OEM products affecting ISMF, SMS and
  dfp and dfsms, as these errors come to the attention of level2.
  When possible, fixes, including maintenance or release numbers
  or parameter and option changes will be included. For details
  the customer may need to consult with the OEM vendor whose
  product is referenced here.
  1) Contact SYSNCSORT for ew4490 for syncsort release 3.4
     any maintenance level, or release 3.5 prior to the
     3.5E/TPF4A level.
  
  2) ABEND0C4 in IGDACS00 at or near offset x'1980'.
     Analysis of a dump revealed the ABEND0C4 in sms
     code was preceeded by abend0c1 with PSW pointing
     into the cvt plus x'D6'. The 0c1 occured while
     oem product Top Secret was processing a racroute
     or racdef on behalf of OEM product NDM by way of
     SMS acs routines.
  RESOLUTION: Top Secret has a parameter that needs to be
     set to permit multi-tasking products such as NDM to
     process multiple security access requests concurrently.
     If this parm is set to "single thread" such requests
     the abend0c1 can occur, followed by the abend0c4.
     Contact OEM Computer Associates vendor for specifics
     of the parameter and its setting.
  3) MSGIGD308I with an abend0c4 in ACF2 code at
     ACF00SVA + x'5D6' approximately.
  RESOLUTION: ACF2 apar G038602 with fix TA1622A.
  
  4) msgigd17040i rc168 with dadsm diagnostic information
     x'040e0400' indicating ds already defined.
  This problem reported in conjunction with ACF2 release
  6.0. Customer reports CA recomends applying release 6.1
  to incorporate fix.
  5) Abend0c4 in CSECT IFG0RR0E + 796.
   The fix is APAR TR41027 for Thruput Manager from MVS Solutions.
   It fixes S0c4 abends in DTMOMX08 attempting to start ASCHINT in
   MVS 5.1.
  6) msgigd300i an abend occurred during sms
     processing, abend system code=0c1.
     Abend0c1 in IEC0SCR1.
     OEM MIM fixes:

          SD35374 (NEEDS SD35381 AS A PRE-REQ)
  7) SMS hangs during IPL with msgigd300i
     JOB MASTER * MASTER IS WAITING
     FOR SMS ADDRESS SPACE TO INITIALIZE
  Problem isolated to OEM products BBXS and CSMON,
  both from Boole and Babbage. B&B fix number BAB1160
  resolves problem with pre-req fix BPB1114 or BPB1170.
  Changes to subsystem name table may have been a possible
  contributor to this problem.
  8) ABENDE37 RC08 when going into extents on an sms managed
     volume that should have plenty of space. Also receives
     MSGIEC614I RC00 Diag Info 04034379.
     OEM product SAMS ALLOCATE ( A.K.A. VAMS ) takes space
     parm coded for allocation and assumes it is in kilobytes.
     This parm can be tracks or cylinders among others. When
    SAMS passes the value it may have taken a cylinder value
     of 10 ( for instance ) and made it 10 kilobytes, thus
     leading to abende37 abendd37 or abendb37.
  8-a) ABENDE37 RC08 MSGIEC032I E37-08 IFG0554T trying to
       extend to another volume

       Code is not invoked due to error in obtaining volunit
  9)  msgigd306i rsn5001 with logrec entry and detecting
      module IGDCNSAQ. Product JOB/SCAN.
      Diversified Software Systems zap to module D00ycom,
      csect d00ysms resolves error. ZAP number Z209392A.
      This ZAP is included in the 5.6.3A (and later)
      levels of JOB/SCAN and DOCU/TEXT
  9a) MSGIGD306I RSN5009 Logrec entries from IGDACS00
      and IGDCNSAQ when executing DOCUTEXT (DOCU/TEXT)
      code.  May also see ABEND878 in address space where
      job executing DOCUTEXT is running.  Flushing the
      job will eliminate the RSN5009 logrec entries.
  10) Loop in module IEFIIC during allocation of ds with
      LIKE= parameter. In most reported instances it seemed
      there was not space available on the chosen vol for
      the ds. Save area chains lead to stopx37 module
      DSR1600. Stopx37 fix number:
      It is X3735C47 and is applicable to release 3.5.2
      and higher. The fix checks for the "like=" parameter
      and will not attempt recovery if it is specified.
  11) Temporary ds's being treated as permanent by sms acs
      routines. ENDEVOR OEM product uses JCL like:

     RACF errors or dynalloc error rsn970c or the ds may be
     managed as though it were permanent, not temp. ACS trace
     shows DSTYPE of perm, not temp. ENDEVOR MODs to the temp
     ds in such a way as to make it PERM.

     ADDENDUM: ENDEVOR is actually allocating this dataset as
      permanent (using an SVC99) using a a temporary dataset name
      format. The default name format is:
        SYSyyddd.Thhmmss.RA0.jobname.ddname
      BUT the High-Level-Qualifier can be changed from SYSyyddd
      to an installation-chosen qualifier by changing the MODHLI
      parameter in the Endevor default options table which will
      correct this problem.
  12) Running ASTEX product from Legent Corp may receive
     a rsn code 5002 rsn5002 "CONSTRUCT NOT FOUND".
     Problem can occur with ASTEX releases 1.7 or 2.0
     in shops with volsers of fewer than 6 characters.
     For release 2.0 ASTEX fix number F200131Z provided.
     Contact LEGENT for this fix or the proper fix for
     release 1.7. ( Per Mary Goettel, Legent software support).
  

Local fix

• 13) An Authorized program (such as ROSCOE) fails a call
      to SMS because the JSCBAUTH bit is turned off by Sterling
      Software's VAM at release 5.0.4. Module VAMACS00 at x'3F8'.
      Problem is resolved at VAM 5.0.5 or via fix # 130493.

  19) ABEND0C4 IN IGG0CLEP + X'1C8' USING OEM DMS
      TO DEFINE VSAM KSDS.  IGG0CLEP ABENDS BECAUSE
      THE POINTER TO INDEX UCB ADDRESS LIST IS ZERO
      (CTGFVUCB).  THE OEM PRODUCT INVOKES SMS VIA
      SUBSYSTEM INTERFACE (SSOB) PASSING INTO SMS A
      SSSA(E) WHICH CONTAINS A POINTER TO CPL.
      RESOLUTION: THE OEM VENDOR PROVIDED A FIX:
        DMS REL 8.1.7 REQUIRES FIX SD31294
        DMS REL 2 REQUIRES FIX  SS00342
      DMS ADSSI001 INVOKED SMS IGDSSIRT VIA SSI.
  20) Running OEM product JCL CHECK from Computer Associates
      ( CA ) receive a jcl check msg that includes SMS
      reason code 5002 rsn5002. Fixed by JCL CHECK PTF
      GO78050 for release 6.2 at 9505 maintenance level.
  x) MSGICH408i msgigd306i rc8 rsn1026 indicating security
     authorization for ds allocation has failed, but the
     ds is allocated anyway. Later, msgigd17105i, catalog
     error rc56 rsn6 is received on delete.
     fix for OEM PROSMS(X37/II) release 3.4.2 is PR341P15.
  23) msgigd17101i rc6 rsn56 duplicate ds in catalog
      received along with dynalloc rsn970c. LOGREC fills
      with erep entries for this error as the program
      retries endlessly untill batch job cancelled.
      Solution:   OEM PROSMS fix number pr334p46.
  24) MSGIGD306I with rsn18038 and logrec entries
       "NEW HIT RATIO IS IN ERROR"
      This can be a h/w problem with OEM EMC dasd devices.
      EMC PATCH 5054 for microcode level 5060-3224 has resolved
      this problem for at least one customer.
  25) Abend047 executing IDCAMS with DCOLLECT option, TSO RECEIVE
      and finally failing in IEBCOPY.  Found that there was an
      OEM product turning off JSCBAUTH bit resulting loss of
      authorization to issue SVC107 (MODESET). The OEM product
      is PROSMS Version 3.4.1 ( the known fix is PR341P13).
  
  26) msgiec614i SCRATCH FAILED rc8 diagnostic information
      04094399 on delete of gdg. Product RUNTRACK from
      Computer Associates ( CA ) apar number RW73348 for
      release 3.1. Customer relates fixes for other releases
      were available. ( 1/31/96 ).

      OEM fix number L1H067Z from STORAGETEK for HSC
      product reported to solve the abend by a customer.
      Also FDRABR fix Z520633 has been reported, but not
      confirmed to resolve this problem.
      In several cases the abend0c4 in IGDSSISM has been
      preceeded by less than one second by an abend0c4 in
      IGDVTSAV. The S0C4 in VTSAV caused the S0C4 in SSISM.
      OEM fix from MITCHEM systems provided via ZAP resolves
      the s0c4 in VTSAV. OEM product is " DIF ". Eyecatchers
      in dump indicates "COPYRIGHT DTS SOFTWARE". Contact
      Mitchem for ZAP details.

      EYECATCHER PRSM34 issues SVC78.  OEM VENDOR owner
      Boole/Baggage has provided zap PR342P67.
  36. MAY see RC16 RSN6103 (6103) - ERROR DETECTED BY SSI.
      Error occurred when using ISMF with CDS name 'ACTIVE'
     to retrieve data from the SMS configuration.  Failure
      detected by SMS CSECT IGDCSCNS when IEFSSREQ macro
      issued.  Error caused by PROSMS not being initialized
      completely.  Recycling PROSMS resolved problem.
  37. Using STK SILO HSC ds allocations intended for tape
      in ATL are mounted to non-atl tape devices instead.

  38. IRA200E AUXILIARY STORAGE SHORTAGE in user address space.
  Control blocks left in storage may contain the following eye-
  catchers: IGDSGD, IGDMCSC2, IGD101I and IGD17101I.  SMS builds
  these messages and returns them to the caller, it is the cal-
  ler's responsibility to free these message areas when no longer
  needed.
  Normally SMS's callers for JCL data set allocations will be the
  ALLOCATION component.  However, in this case an OEM product is
  intercepting the return to ALLOCATION to check the SMS RC/RS
  code, and may redrive the ALLOCATION will be redriven.  When
  the allocation is redriven by the OEM product, storage contain-
  ing the initial messages is left unfreed.
  The customer provided the following update regards a fix she
  received from the OEM VENDOR:
  
  "OEM fix solved the problem.  FYI the vendor is DTS Software
   (formerly Mitchum Technologies) and the product is Space
   Recovery System (functionally like StopX37).
   We needed release 2.1.14 with a zap on top of that."
