Error description
A COBOL program running in SQL/DS single user mode (SUM) will produce an S0C1 abend if the cobol libraries are defined with RTEREUS = YES and the COBOL program contains a STOP RUN statement. In this scenarion, ARICSPM will branch to low core, where the machine will end with an ABEND0C1. The reason for the abend is described below: - RTEREUS=YES tells cobol to set up a 'subprogram environment' - when the cobol prgram ends, IGZEBST will not restore the last save area before branching back to ARICSPM. As it has been determined that it is 'subprogram environment', ARICSPM will restore the save area that is previous to the last save area. This causes IGZEBST to branch back to the ARICSPM ent point with reg15=0. The first thing ARICSPM does is branch it's eyecatcher (reg15+x'16) so we end up at x'16' in low c taking an ABEND0C1. - The use of GOBACK instead of STOP RUN will cause cobol to restore the last save area as desired in this situation.
