Error description

  • Psa overlay or random overlays. An oem product gets control
during address space termination. It does a PC instruction but
does not get control back because the registers are not set up
corretly. Control is given back to a random location but
usually a low address. The random code that gets control can
then overlay the psa since it was entered in the middle. The
trace table will look something like the following:
Many SVC A and 3C's issued from the same product (different
    modules). Then SVC A 070c0000 80Bf51f4
                    SVCR A 070c0000 80BF51F4
                    PC ... 0 00EF1146 02010
                    PT ... 0 00EF1146 004B <-or any asid
                    PC ... 0 00EF1166 02006
                    PT ... 0 00EF1166 004B
At this point control should be given back to 00EF1166, but
instead control is given to something like 070c3000 0000637A.
In this case 0000637a was dfp module which in turn overlaid the
psa because of bad regs and the bad entry.
The above PC and PT entries must take place and point to the
OEM code mentioned on the scratch pad of this apar.
Please contact the IBM support center for the information on
    the scratch pad.
