Error description

  • **************************************************************
    * THIS APAR GIVES A FULLER EXPLANATION OF THE MEANING OF *
    * MSGIEC161I RC201 and RC202  (RSN61)                        *
    **************************************************************
    *    MSGIEC161I RC202 and RC201 ARE ISSUED WHEN ONE OF THE   *
    * DIDIRFLG BITS IN THE CATALOG IS ON AT OPEN TIME. THESE *
    * BITS MAY BE TURNED ON WHEN AN UPDATE TO THE CATALOG IS IN *
    * PROGRESS. IF AN INTERRUPT OCCURS THE BIT IS LEFT ON TO *
    * INDICATE POSSIBLE CATALOG DAMAGE. SUBSEQUENT OPENS OF THE *
    * DATA SET WILL RECEIVE MSGIEC161I RC201 or RC202 DEPENDING  *
    * ON WHETHER THE OPEN IS FOR INPUT or OUTPUT. AMS DIAGNOSE *
    * SHOULD BE RUN TO TEST THE CATALOG (BCS). THE DATA SET MAY *
    * HAVE TO BE RESTORED TO RESET THE BIT. SEE OY49202 *

Comments

  • See related information in DOC apar OY49202. This apar
    notes that the DIDIRFLG is byte5 of the BCS DATA or INDEX
    cell record (DINC). Use AMS PRINT to print the CATALOG BCS
    record. Print by key, wherein FROMKEY is the cluster name
    of the VSAM dataset causing the error. There are currently
    3 DINC settings : DIDELETE DIDUPDAT DIDSRMU
       To recover a cluster component that has been set with
    this INTERRUPTION REGOGNITION FLAG condition, issue IDCAMS
    command : DELETE cluster.name CLUSTER NOSCRATCH
    then do :  DEFINE NAME(cluster.name) RECATALOG VOLUME(xxxxxx)
    See your AMS for ICF manual per DEFINE and DELETE commands.
