Error description

  • The db2haicu utility fails to create mount resources in a
cluster where the hosts' OS host names are set to the fully
qualified domain name(FQDN) values, i.e. the values of the
following are all set to the FQDN:

    1) "hostname" output
    2) "uname -a" output
    3) "lsrpnode" output

The following error is seen when trying to add a mount point via
the db2haicu utility in this case:

    $ db2haicu
    (...)
Do you want to add or remove mount points to or from the domain?
    [1]
    1. Add
    2. Remove
    1
Enter the full path of the mount you wish to add to the cluster:
    /ha_dpf_db/db2inst1/NODE0000/
Which DB2 database partition should the path
    /ha_dpf_db/db2inst1/NODE0000/ be associated with?
    0
Adding mount point /ha_dpf_db/db2inst1/NODE0000/ to the cluster
    ...
Either db2haicu could not resolve the mount point
    /ha_dpf_db/db2inst1/NODE0000 or the mount point
/ha_dpf_db/db2inst1/NODE0000 is on a file system that is not
eligible to be added to the cluster.

The db2diag.log shows the following error:

Local fix

  • In order to workaround this issue, use short host name values
for the hosts in the cluster.
