Error description
During Tivoli Storage Manager client activities (backup/archive/restore/retrieve), an out of resources condition could occur due to memory or network operating system limitations. Starting with client releases 6.3.2, 6.4.1, 7.1.0, the message "ANS1030E The operating system refused a TSM request for memory allocation." is not displayed at console when an out of resource error occurs and the operation is stopped without any error output message. L2/Customer diagnostics: In a client service trace messages like the following are logged: ..\..\common\winnt\ntrc.cpp( 728): TransWin32RC(): Translated Win32 RC 1130 (0x0000046a) from FileRead(): ReadFile 'filename' to TSM RC 102 ..\..\common\winnt\ntrc.cpp( 792): TransWin32RC(): SnapshotErrMode = 0; dwWin32RC = 1130 ..\..\common\fio\ntfileio.cpp(8274): FileRead(): ... Problem conclusion
The client stopped backup if the Windows API ReadFile() failed with the error 1130 (ERROR_NOT_ENOUGH_SERVER_MEMORY). The code has been fixed so the client will skip the problem file and continue processing with the next file. When a file is skipped for this reason, new message 'ANS0362E There are insufficient Windows system resources to process this command.' is displayed.
Temporary fix
interim fix 6.3.2.4
