APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During installation of TSM for VE on windows platform,
user will get a misleading error message when customer
install data mover(B/A client) without the 32bit API
and sdk from the suite installer. The misleading error
message said Backup Archive client install fail and
whether user want to continue the installation.
But actually install succeed.

Local fix

  • User can work around this issue by select all features when
custom install data mover.

The VE installer does not validate the installation of
the TSM BA Client and API correctly

Problem conclusion

  • Installer corrected to validate the TSM BA client and API
installation so it issues the correct messages.

Temporary fix

  • Apply fix level 7.1.0.1
