APAR status

Error description

  • WebSphere MQ 7.0.1.10 client using dotnet(WCF) A time out error
    occurs, uncommitted messages build up on the
    queue and multiple svrconn connections are created. In the
    system log you see the following error

    The timeout '00:01:00' was exceeeded while attempting to open
    the channel for endpoint

    estination=MY.CONSUMER' The operation did not complete in the
    time allowed. The endpoint might be down, unavailable, or
    unreachable;
    review the system status and configuration and increase the
    timeout if required.
    
    Users of XMS and .Net applications, not using WCF, can see
    frequent connection failures (MQRC_Q_MGR_NOT_AVAILABLE or
    MQRC_UNEXPECTED_ERROR) or hangs threads during disconnection.

    WebSphere MQ WCF, XMS and .net application users using the
    managed .net client.

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    The WebSphereMQ .Net managed client maintains a connection
    pool to allow connections to queue managers already in use to be
    established quickly. However there were errors in the locking
    code used when connections were added or removed to the pool and
    in handling connection errors.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Connection pool locking mechanisms and use were corrected.
