Error description

• The client (dsmc, dsm, dsmj, dsmcsvc, or dsmcad) can crash
  when using Application Protection during VM backups.
  To enable application protection the following line would be
  required in the dsm.opt file.

Local fix

• Do not use TSM self-contained application protection (i.e.
  comment out INCLUDE.VMTSMVSS option(s)).
  Use the VMware Tools (the default TSM for VE setting) to
  quiesce applications together with internal tools to the
  application (Exchange or SQL) to truncate the logs.
