APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If the VMVSTORTRANSPORT option has more than two methods
  specified, the VM backup may fail if the first VMVSTORTRANSPORT
  method fails.  The Tivoli Storage Manager Client will attempt to
  use the second method, but may ultimately fail.
  Dsmerror.log will show the following:
  ANS1711W Incremental backup selected for 'vrdmtest', but a Full
  backup has not yet been performed. Performing a Full backup
  instead.
  ANS1228E Sending of object 'vrdmtest' failed.
  ANS5283E The operation was unsuccessful.
  Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
  Client trace using VM and VM_DETAIL will show the following:

• Limit VMVSTORTRANSPORT option to no more than two preferred

Problem conclusion

• Current implementation had some logical errors and,
  as result, VMVSTORTRANSPORT option was not hadled
  properly in case when more than two preferred
  transport modes were specified in it.
  
  The code has been changed so that any number of
  preferred transport modes can be specified now.
