IC95737: IBM Systems Director shows duplicate events or historical events as new

APAR status

  • Closed as fixed if next.

Error description

  • IBM Systems Director (ISD) may display events from hardware
managed by an Integrated Management Module (IMM) multiple times
or historical events will be displayed as current.

Old events from IMM managed hardware may display in the active
status, problems or event log view as new events. A single
event may result in multiple event entries.

    Impact:

ISD may not give an accurate view of IMM hardware events.

Local fix

  • If ISD is displaying old events as new events for an IMM, the
IMM may be removed from ISD, rediscovered and unlocked. An old
event example is, ISD is displaying an event arrived in June,
while the event details show the event happened in March.

Problem summary

  • When a Chassis Management Module (CMM) does a fail over to
another CMM, ISD IMM event information may become wrong. The
result will be ISD may report the same event multiple times or
events with old timestamps will get displayed as new events.

Platforms: All ISD servers with IMM endpoints
    Versions: 6.3.1-6.3.3.1
