Error description

  • Error ANR0519E message may occur in server activity log even
    when the instant restore operation is successful. Thus the error
    message can lead a user to think that the restore failed when
    it did not fail. The symptom appears on the Tivoli Storage
    Manager server.
    
    A user can check following to validate the restore:
    
    - Check the server activity log for any other error messages
      associated with the session.
    - Check the Instant Restore logs (FastBack Mount Logs) on the
      client side for any error messages that would indicate a
      problem with the restore.
    
    Assuming that there are no other warnings or errors indicated on
    the Tivoli Storage Manager server or client, it is probably safe
    to assume that the operation was successful.

Problem conclusion

  • The Recovery Agent was using an algorithm for restoring
    BITMAP.DAT data that inadvertently triggered the ANR0519E
    message on the Tivoli Storage Manager server. The data was
    correctly restored and in this case the message represents a
    "false alarm".
    
    The Recovery Agent has been modified to use a different method
    for restoring the BITMAP.DAT data that does not induce the
    ANR0519E message.
