IC93159: Chassis Management Module(CMM) Service Data file collected and downloaded from IBM Flex System Manager(FSM) GUI is corrupted

APAR status

  • Closed as fixed if next.

Error description

  • In FSM Graphical User Interface (GUI), the CMM Service Data file
that is collected and downloaded through the Service and Support
Manager (SSM) plug-in, when attempted to open will fail with
"Archive file is corrupted" message. However the same file that
is collected using FSM GUI through SMM plug-in, transferred to
local system through secure copy (SCP) is not corrupted.
Also, the CMM Service Data file that is collected and downloaded
    through CMM GUI opens fine.

The file is corrupted when it is being downloaded from the FSM
GUI. Currently the Content-type used while exporting the file in
the downloading process is x-gzip. The CMM Service Data file
that is collected is of .tgz, Tarball type and the x-gtar
Content-type should be used in place of x-gzip.

    Impact:

Users are unable to open and refer to the CMM Service Data file
that is collected through FSM GUI.

Local fix

  • The CMM Service Data can be collected through the CMM GUI.

Problem summary

  • To view the CMM Service Data file users need to open the file
that is collected and downloaded through FSM GUI.

Changes to the code to modify the Content-type to x-gtar will
allow the downloaded CMM Service Data file to open fine.

Platforms: IBM Flex System Manager (FSM)

    Versions: FSM 1.2.1 and previous

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix
