Error description

  • Problem on the DeEnvelope component when this is processing MT
    094.

The problem is on the block 4 of the MT when a line of this
block 4 begins with the character ":"

The block S is stored in block 4, while it is a separate block.

If they modify the MT, by replacing the character ":" by ".",
then there is no cutting problem.

A case was opened with SWIFT by the Supervion Team. The
answer from SWIFT is the following:

"We have verified internally and can confirm that the current
    behaviour is correct."

"The information in the MT Usage Guidelines only applies to MT
    Categories 1-9 & n99 messages.
This is also specified in chapter 1 Standards MT Volumes
    Description.
System messages therefore do not (have to) adhere to the MT
    Usage Guidelines.
The System Message Handbook specifies the following format for
    field 312:
    <X>1-65
    [<CrLf><X>1-65] 0-n
By this definition, inserting a starting character of " : " (or
    even a
" - ") is perfectly acceptable (since both are part of the
    X-Character
    set)

Local fix

  • Act manually to change colon ":" to dot ".".

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
All customers who use Standards Map Editor and translator
    Problem Description:
SWIFT issue on block 4 of MT when line begins by ":"
    Platforms Affected:
    All supported SI platforms

Problem conclusion

  • Resolution Summary:
The code is truncating the block of data because it currently
interprets the CRLF plus the colon as the start of a new SWIFT
    field.
MT094 is a system message and in system messages the start of a
new field is simply the { character, not CRLF plus a colon.
