APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The CDSA will short retry also on persistent errors, which
leads to unnecessary use of system ressources.

Local fix

  • STRTC - 377143
    FS / FS

You can temporarily get relief by doing fewer short retries in
general, if that is possible, or change the system business
process "CDInterop_BeginSessionWithLoop" to quit the short
retry loop on certain return codes in field CallbackMessageId.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
    B2B Integrator 5.2
    Problem Description:
In 5.2.4.1, the Connect Direct Begin Session Service continues
to retry connection operations in response to receiving
RACF001I from the remote host. The retry operation continues
until all configured retries have been exhausted. This behavior
is different to the earlier versions of SI.
    Platforms affected:
    Unix/Linux
    Windows
    iSeries

Problem conclusion

  • Resolution Summary:
The Connect Direct Begin Session Service no longer retries
connection failures which require configuration changes to
remedy. For example when a RACF001I (User not defined) status
is received during the authentication phase of the connection
request, the service will (correctly) fail instead of retrying.
