APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The problem occurs when the aggregation function is used with
the OLAP Window function.  The following is an example of the
aggregation function used with the OLAP Window function:
(AGGREGATION_FUNCTION (columnX) OVER (ORDER BY .... ROWS
UNBOUNDED PRECEDING)

This problem might also occur with any other OVER
window-partition-clause.

This problem only occurs in DB2 Version 10.1 and only when
Partial Early Aggregation is chosen in the plan.

Local fix

  • Use the DB2_REDUCED_OPTIMIZATION=NO_PEA registry variable to
pick plans that avoid the issue.
