Error description

  • WebSphere MQ cluster sender channel fails to start, if the
queue manager is created by specifying -md and -ld options to
create the data and/or log directories on NAS devices
implementing CIGS. Queue manager error logs will show the
    following error:

    AMQ9516: File error occurred.
    EXPLANATION:
The file system returned error code 6 for file
    '\\XXX.XXX.XXX\wmq\data\TEST\@ipcc\AMQRSYNA.DAT'.
    ACTION:
Record the name of the file
    '\\XXX.XXX.XXX\wmq\data\TEST\@ipcc\AMQRSYNA.DAT' and tell the
systems administrator, who should ensure that file
    '\\XXX.XXX.XXX\wmq\data\TEST\@ipcc\AMQRSYNA.DAT' is correct and
    available.

System error 1337 is also reported when opening the channel
    table.

    Trace will show the following:

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere MQ v7.1 and MQ 7.5 users who create queue manager by
specifying -md or -ld option to create the data and/or the log
directories on some NAS devices implementing CIFS along with -ar
    option.

    Platforms affected:
    Windows

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When the queue manager is created with -ar option, MQ fails to
remove the SID of the MQM group from the Access Control List of
channel table file. Since the SID of an unresolved group can
not be accepted by the NAS device the sender channel fails to
    start.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ code is modified so that the SID of the mqm
group is removed from the access control list of the channel
table file when the queue manager is created with -ar option.
