Error description

  • WebSphere MQFTE 7.0.4.2. Running WMQFTE transfers set to
    trigger at some time period.
While transfer-1(T1) was finishing, transfer-2(T2) started.
When T1 ends, it starts to remove the file as T2 was reading
    the file.
    .
    From output0.log:
    "[timestamp] 0000005e TransferFrame E BFGTR0028E: A
recoverable I/O error has occurred during a read. The agent
will attempt to recover the file transfer. The error message is
: BFGIO0166E: The connection to the SFTP server at 1.2.3.4 was
lost while data was being read for a running transfer."

The above error causes T2 to fail and puts T2 into a recovering
state. Due to a problem in the FTE code, the container used to
hold to SFTP Session objects was not closed after this error.
When T2 was restarted an attempt was made to open the
container, but as this was already open, 2 FFDC files were
generated indicating that the transfer was already present/open
    in the container:

    From ffdc:
"BFGBR0063E: An internal error has occurred. Request for a
duplicate container for transfer Id FTETransferReference
    [endPointType=SENDER,transferId=xxx,wmqConnection=null]
    occurred when already present."
    .
When T2 restarts it does not find the files and completes.
    .
    From trace files:
"BFGRP0036I: The transfer request has successfully completed,
    although no files were transferred"

Problem summary

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
If a transfer enters 'Recovering' state then the file or
protocol session (if using the Protocol Bridge Agent) should not
be closed. If it is closed then the following errors can occur
    when the transfer recovers:

    - BFGTR0028E
    - BFGIO0166E
    - BFGBR0063E

This issue can also occur when the source disposition is set
to the 'delete', causing the transfer to complete but the source
file not to be deleted. If the transfer is a scheduled
transfer then the same source file will be transferred again.
This issue is as a result of changes introduced by IC82232

Problem conclusion

  • This problem has been fixed and the file or protocol session
will be closed at the correct time within the transfer.
