IC89074: PERFORM LIBACTION FOR LIBRARY CLIENT DEFINES PATH (ANR8974I), BUT FAILS PROCESS/SESSION REQUESTING THE NEW DRIVE (ANR1404W).

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• While attempting to define many drive paths with the PERFORM
  LIBACTION option for a Library Client, the process requesting
  the first mount request for each new drive path fails, due to
  not retrying the failed mount.
  
  The PERFORM LIBACTION for Library Manager does not have this
  problem.  The Library Manager is able to define all paths with
  the PERFORM LIBACTION process.
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: All V63 Library
  Clients that use the Library Manager PERFORM LIBACTION
  
  Library Client path can fail the drive mount during the define
  path operation.  If there are a large number of paths to be
  defined, it will appear all the processes or client sessions are
  failing.  If allowed to define all the Library Client drive
  paths, then the next TSM processes or sessions will start to get
  mounts successfully.
