Error description

  • An application using the WebSphere MQ v7.0.1.0 classes for
    Java makes a connection to a WebSphere MQ queue manager
    using the CLIENT transport. While trying to perform an
    MQGET, the WebSphere MQ classes for Java created an FDC:
    .
      Probe Id       :- JO568001
      Component      :- RemoteFAP.jmqiGetMessage(Hconn,Hobj,
                        MQMD
      Process Name   :- C:\Program Files\IBM\Java142\jre\bin\
                        java.exe
      Addressing mode:- 32-bit
      UserApp        :- TRUE
      Major Errorcode:- MQRC_Q_MGR_STOPPING
      Comment1       :- com.ibm.mq.jmqi.JmqiException[CC=2;
                        RC=2162]
    .
    When the FDC is generated, an access violation occurrs in
    the Windows system module:  C:\Windows\system32\ntdll.dll
    .
    The access violation caused the Java Runtime Environment
    that the application was running in to generate a Javacore.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users of WebSphere MQ v7.0.1 Java applications

    Platforms affected:
    All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) +Java
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    WebSphere MQ Java layer passes on a request to the queue
    manager to write an FFST. In order to write an FFST,
    WebSphere MQ allocates a buffer for java stack string. This
    buffer allocation was incorrect thus causing a heap corruption.

Problem conclusion

  • WebSphere MQ v7.0.1 code has been modified such that the buffer
    allocation for java stack string is done correctly while
    writing FFST.
