Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of WebSphere MQ Explorer who:

Run default tests or a custom test configuration that includes
    Publish/Subscribe tests on a:

    (a) Queue manager which has Publish/Subscribe disabled

    OR

    (b) A WebSphere MQ queue manager prior to version 7.0

    Platforms affected:
    Linux (x86),Linux (x86-64),Windows

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The WebSphere MQ Explorer publish/subscribe tests test the
publish/subscribe configuration of a WebSphere MQ v7.0 (or
    higher) queue manager.

These tests attempt to access publish/subscribe artifacts which
are only available on a v7.0 (or higher) queue manager, which
    has publish/subscribe enabled.

When these WebSphere MQ Explorer tests attempted to access
these artifacts on a v6.0 queue manager, or on a v7.0 (or
higher) queue manager where publish/subscribe was disabled,
the test execution failed to complete successfully. An FDC
was generated by the WebSphere MQ Explorer to report this
    failure.

Problem conclusion

  • A code change associated with this APAR has changed the
WebSphere MQ Explorer publish/subscribe tests, such that the
tests will no longer attempt to run against a queue manager
earlier than v7.0, or a queue manager where publish/subscribe
    has been disabled.

When the test has not run for the these reasons, a warning is
output in the WebSphere MQ Explorer test results view, to
inform the user that the tests have not been run.
