Error description

  • When attempting to specify a Connect:Direct node containing the
'_' (underscore) character, the MQ Explorer FTE plugin new
transfer wizard will report the node is not a valid
Connect:Direct node name.

Local fix

Problem summary


    

  • The IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer File Transfer Edition Plugin
create transfer wizard states that underscore (_) is an invalid
character for a Connect:Direct node. This is not true.

USERS AFFECTED:
Users of the MQ Explorer File Transfer Edition plugin creating
transfers to Connect:Direct nodes which contain non alphanumeric
characters.

PLATFORMS AFFECTED:
All

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The code has been altered to allow the following additional
characters within a Connect:Direct node name:

$ (Dollar)
_ (Underscore)
. (Period)

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 7.0.4.2.
