APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using the FTE MQ Explorer plug-in to create a file transfer
request, it does not correctly generate the transfer request
when the user enters multiple command line arguments for a
    program invocation.

A parameter list of '1,2,3' results in the following XML:

    <argument>1,2,3</argument>

    Instead of:
    <argument>1</argument>
    <argument>2</argument>
    <argument>3</argument>

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of Websphere MQ File Transfer Edition MQ Explorer
    Plugin 7.0.4.1

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
Due to an error in the code responsible for parsing the
program invocation dialog, parameters separated by the comma ','
delimiter would not be honoured. A single parameter would appear
in the transfer XML generated instead of a set of parameters.
Because of this the application would eventually be invoked with
the comma delimitied list of parameters, instead of a
correctly formatted parameter list. For example:

    ftePingAgent -v,myagent

    Instead of:

    ftePingAgent -v myagent

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been altered to ensure that if a list of parameters
is supplied to the program invocation dialog when creating a
transfer, those parameters will be parsed out and supplied to
the program separately as a valid argument string when the
    program is called.
