Error description
Prepare WebSphere MQ Wizard fails to provide an option to configure WebSphere MQ for domain user when logged in under a domain user, instead it displays an error page with following message: An unexpected error has occurred while validating the security credentials of user 'domain\userid'. Ensure that the network is operational, and that all required domain controllers are available.
Local fix
Customer can work around the problem by setting the domain user id and password in the MQ Series service. Ensure to rerun Prepare WebShpere MQ Wizard for completeness after configuring domain userid. Note: At 7.1 WMQ will install one service and, if it is the primary (or only) installation on a machine, it will also install a second service, which is intended as a migration aid for customers moving from earlier releases. The service that you always get is named 'MQ_<INSTALLATION_NAME>' so, for 'Installation1' this will be called 'MQ_Installation1', this is the one that needs to run under either MUSR_MQADMINx or the specially configured domain userid. The service that you get for the primary installation only is called the old name 'IBM MQSeries' and is expected only ever to run under LocalSystem. It's only purpose in life is to start the real (MQ_<INSTALLATION_NAME>) service. Hence, use the Windows services panel or sc config command to change the service named MQ_<INSTALLATION_NAME>, so that it runs under the domain userid. Eg: sc config MQ_<INSTALLATION_NAME> obj=<domain>\<username> password=<password>
