Error description

  • Customer installed a PDF Converter utility as a Printer and used
a PDT file as the output. When starting a screen copy the
    session hangs.

When the print screen is started the following window appears

    Session A
    Page:1
    ..*....
    Cancel

and the session hangs. Clicking cancel does not change anything.
The user needs to kill the process in Task Manager losing all
    his window content.

If Use PDT is NOT checked, there is no hang during print screen.

Not all PDF Converter print driver tools support RAW mode
print data stream that PCOM produces when using a PDT. Some
will ignore the print job and others will hang.

Problem conclusion

  • PCSWS.EXE has been changed to not use OpenPrinter() function
call when Use PDT is checked on the Print Setup panel and the
print driver is a PDF Converter tool.

Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.5 Refresh Pack
