Error description

  • Utilities like db2expln may fail with SQL0204N  even though
    related DB2 objects exists in DB2 databases.
    
    For eg:
    
    $ cat f.sql
    select count(*) from v97inst3.test_<some_ascii_characters>
    ;
    
    $ db2expln -d dbcs_db -f f.sql -z ";" -g -i -terminal

    SQLSTATE=427
    
    This issue happened because an expected codepage conversion was
    not happening in DB2.
    This fix will resolve SQL0204N.
