APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Using an unmanaged 64-bit .NET client application with
MQPutMessageOptions.Version = MQPMO_VERSION_2 fails with
reason code 2156 MQRC_RESPONSE_RECORDS_ERROR.

This happens only when the .NET client application is compiled
for 64-bit CPU or AnyCPU.

Local fix

  • Compile the .NET client application for 32-bit CPU.

Problem summary

USERS AFFECTED:
Users of unmanaged WebSphere MQ .NET client who use
MQPuMessageOptions.Version = 2 or higher on 64-bit machines
with client applications compiled for x64 or AnyCPU.

Platforms affected:
Windows

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
Two fields of the MQPMO structure were declared with an
incorrect data type causing the size of the MQPMO structure to
differ in the .NET layer and the native layer. This caused the
native C layer to report a MQRC_RESPONSE_RECORDS_ERROR as it
attempted to access an inaccessible address on the memory.

Problem conclusion

  • The fields of the MQPMO structure were modified to have the
correct data types.
