Error description

  • While using WebSphere MQ XMS .NET client application, a
non-persistent message is being lost if it is an unmanaged
mode (XMSC_WMQ_CM_CLIENT_UNMANAGED). If the following values
are set for the local queue or XMS session property, then the
    message will still be lost.

    1. Queue attributes for Default Read Ahead set to NO
    (DEFREADA(NO))
    or
    2. Specifying the XMS .Net session property for
    XMSC.WMQ_READ_AHEAD_ALLOWED to
    XMSC.WMQ_READ_AHEAD_ALLOWED_DISABLED

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere MQ XMS .NET client using asynchronous message
delivery in unmanaged mode with non transacted non persistent
    messages.

    Platforms affected:
    Windows

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When the asynchronous message delivery is stopped using
session.close or consumer.close, the last message in transit is
    getting lost.

Problem conclusion

  • The last message was not getting delivered to the message
handler function because the message was getting removed even
when XMSC.WMQ_READ_AHEAD_ALLOWED_DISABLED is set. WebSphere MQ
C API was modified to ensure that all the pending messages are
delivered to the asynchronous message handler when the
    application is closed.
