Error description
Asynchronous methods registered from .NET ( unmanaged mode ) or XMS C/C++ applications will hang if any WebSphere MQ API calls are made within the asynchronous function. This problem happens only when the client mode is used for connecting to a queue manager.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: .NET applications running in unmanaged mode and XMS C/C++ client applications. This problem is observed only when client mode is used to connect to the queue manager. This problem was introduced in fix pack 7.0.1.3. Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: When asynchronous functions are registered through MQCB and in the first MQCTL(START) call, there is one lock held on a shared semaphore but not released. This was causing the subsequent WebSphere MQ API calls within the asynchronous function to hang.
Problem conclusion
Proper locking and unlocking of the semaphore has been implemented so that any WebSphere MQ API calls within the asynchronous function will not hang. | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-AixPPC64-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-HpuxIA64-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-HpuxPaRISC64-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-LinuxIA32-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-LinuxPPC64-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-LinuxS390X-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-LinuxX64-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-SolarisSparc64-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-SolarisX64-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-Windows-FP0004 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-AixPPC64-FP0003 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-HpuxIA64-FP0003 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-HpuxPaRISC64-FP0003 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-LinuxIA32-FP0003 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-LinuxPPC64-FP0003 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-LinuxS390X-FP0003 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-LinuxX64-FP0003 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-SolarisSparc64-FP0003 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-SolarisX64-FP0003 | | MDVREGR 7.0.1-WS-MQ-Windows-FP0003 | --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.5 -------- -------------------- Windows U200324 AIX U839183 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U839621 HP-UX (Itanium) U839626 Solaris (SPARC) U839622 Solaris (x86-64) U839628 iSeries tbc_p700_0_1_5 Linux (x86) U839623 Linux (x86-64) U839627 Linux (zSeries) U839624 Linux (Power) U839625 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
