Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects users of the WebSphere MQ (WMQ) Explorer v7
in a language other than English, who wish to administer a WMQ
    v6 broker.

    Platforms affected:
    Linux (x86),Linux (x86-64),Windows

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
In order to deregister a subscriber, the WMQ Explorer performs
a check on the MQREGO_VARIABLE_USER_ID parameter of the
subscription, in order to determine the correct deregister
command to issue to the broker. This property is an
    enumeration of [YES|NO].

When running in a language other than English, the WMQ Explorer
was incorrectly comparing the translated display string for the
property, rather than the underlying enumeration value. This
meant there was no match and the result defaulted to NO,
causing the wrong deregister command to be issued when
attempting to deregister a subscriber with a variable user ID,
    resulting in the operation failing.

Problem conclusion

  • The deregister routine now converts the display strings to the
correct enumeration value before performing the comparison.
