IC70304: HATS STOPS RENDERING HOST SCREEN WITH EBCDIC VALUE 2B ON SCREEN

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The customer reported a problem where their host screen was not
  being rendered completely and it would be cut off in the middle
  of the screen.  The host terminal also showed this same
  behavior which indicates the problem originates in HOD.  As a
  result HATS is only able to render the parts of the screen that
  it gets from HOD.
  
  The problem appears to happen when the host screen contains an
  EBCDIC value of 2B.

Problem summary

  A character with EBCDIC value 2B is
  not displayed on the host screen
  because the value 2B is defined as
  XANT order. When the code comes
  across this character, it changes the
  state to EOR (End of record). That is
  why it stops processing the screen
  after this character is encountered
  and no more data is displayed.
  

Problem conclusion

• The HOD code which handles how the datastream is parsed was
  changed to allow the 2B value to be ignored and the remaining
  data on the host screen to be displayed.
  
  Fix is scheduled for HATS 7.5.1.1 Refresh Pack.
