Error description

• When a WebSphere MQ (WMQ) v7 Java Message Service (JMS)
  message-driven bean (MDB) application running in WebSphere
  Application Server v7.0.x tries to get a message and query its
  JMSXGroupID property, a NullPointerException is thrown.
  
  This error is not seen when an identical attempt is made from a
  WMQ v6 MDB application.

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  This issue affects users of the WMQ v7 classes for JMS which
  read properties from a message that has been subjected to
  serialization.
  
  Platforms affected:
  All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) +Java
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  When a WMQ v7 JMS application queries properties including
  JMSXGroupID from a message that has been serialized and
  de-serialized, a NullPointerException is thrown. The difference
  in the WMQ v6 and the WMQv7 serialization procedures led to the
  loss of the values of all such properties and hence led to the
  NullPointerException.
  

Problem conclusion

• The WMQ v7 code has been fixed so that the values of all the
  message properties are retained after the de-serialization
  process.
